°^SISSI/in Kooperation mit Chinesische Wäscherei^° präsentieren: AL DOUM AND THE FARYDS (Italien)+ Gast: YEN !!!

SISSI/in Kooperation mit Chinesische Wäscherei...

Bitte geht nicht nach Berlin...

Al Doum and The Faryds come crashing in from nowhere with their astonishing self-released album. This far-out Italian ensemble blend subtle guitar heroics, African rhythms, jazz and Arabian psychedelic tunes, all together in one receipy invoking a solid and dark emotional vibes.

This one is a global sound of freak-heroics. Their closet peers would be [ Embryo ] for their global yet psychedelic world view or perhaps Sunburned Hand of the man when they got lost in the groove. This self-title album burst with life. The percussion is wild, orgasm hum, eastern wind instruments follow esoteric patters and an electric guitar plays cosmic gentle solos. It works like a dream.

There are some reverberating vocals, buried deep in the mix on “Counting Dunes”, some faint mysterious spoken wisdom. It come close to discernible and then fades into the gentle mix like a mirage. There seen to be some mind-blowing music sourcing from Italy right now and this stormer can stand with the best of them. You can’t go wrong with one piece of vinyl holding just over thirty minutes of magic mayhem.

Ein wenig Presse:

Surely the most uncompromising British protest music made in years, Williamson’s blistering critique is all the more searing because of its seeming randomness: his vocal punches can land anywhere from limp copyist guitar bands to Boris Johnson to – more curiously – Kasabian and Brian Eno.

As quotable as Half Man Half Biscuit, as in thrall to the rhythmic force of language as the Wu-Tang Clan and as ‘wow, where the fuck did that come from?’ as Eccentronic Research Council, it is – like all those things – a brutally brilliant slice of working class culture.

This is not John Cooper-Clarke territory, this is not funny haha like Alexei Sayle and “Hello John, Got A New Motor”, this is reality speaking, the zeitgeist, the now, the Nottingham sink estate, the voice from Ladbrooke’s. I could reel off the titles or quote some lines from the tracks but it won’t read or capture the brilliance of this LP.

Maiden on weed.

Dark  Country  are  a  band  from  Portland,  Oregon  that  plays  a  mixture  of  metal,  punk  and  classic  rock  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  and  self  released  2013  album.

The  album starts  out  with  an  old  school  hard  rock/heavy  metal  sound  along  with  fast  riffing  and  melodic  vocals  as  well  as  bringing  in  the  aggression  of  punk  rock  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

As  the  album  progresses  the  band  starts  bringing  in  a  mixture  of  slow  and  fast  parts  along  with  guitar  solos  and  leads  along  with  some  parts  that  stoner  rock  fans  would  find  very  interesting  while  not  being  in  that  musical  genre  and  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  there  is  a  small  amount  of  psychedelic  sounding  synths  being  utilized.

Dark  Country  bring  in  a  very  heavy  and  retro  sound  with  their  music  with  the  way  the  mix  70's  and  early 80's  metal  with  the  energy  of  punk  and  the  song  structures  to  create  an  album  that  is  very  old  school  while  still  having  an  identity  of  its  own  all  at  the  same  time.

Song  lyrics  cover  dark  and  everyday  themes,  while  the  production  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy,  old  school  and  professional  sound  for  being  a  self  released  recording  where  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  album.

In  my  opinion  Dark  Country  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  metal,  punk  and  classic  rock  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Harbringer"  "Dark  Path"  and  "Lights  Out".  8/5  out  of  10.

°^SISSI/in Kooperation mit Chinesische Wäscherei^° präsentieren: the return of the incredible PARADISE BANGKOK MOLAM INTERNATIONAL BAND

SISSI/in Kooperation mit Chinesische Wäscherei...

Bitte geht nicht nach Berlin...

Endlich wieder! Für viele (Bremer?) ein absolutes Highlight des Jahres 2013. Kommen!

(Paradise Bangkok, Bangkok / London)

With their popular party series Paradise Bangkok and hand-picked compilations for the fine labels Finders Keepers and Soundway, record collectors and DJs Maft Sai & Chris Menist singlehandedly brought back the rich culture of Thai pop music of the 1960es and 70es to the public's attention. The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band is their attempt to stage this extravagant music again: Vintage Molam music played with a 21st century vibe, an infectious and highly danceable mixture.

With Kammao Perdtanon who has been dubbed as the "Jimi Hendrix of the Phin" (that's a Thai lute) and the 72-year old Sawai Kaewsombat on Khaen (a sort of an East Asian harmonica) the group features two absolute wizards of Molam, a style originally hailing from the country's poor Isan region. These legendary characters are being backed by a young red-hot rhythm section formed by some of the most up and coming young musicians in Thailand's capital.

The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band's European debut tour last summer blew everyone away and proved why insiders are considering them a future world music sensation: The combo performed at high-profile events such as Wassermusik Festival in Berlin, Belgium's Sfinks and Poland's leading open air Off and took the audiences by storm. In Katowice they played the main stage at prime time, causing a few hundred Polish kids to go ballistic and jump up and down to an exotic music they had never heard before.

While currently working on their debut album, we expect The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band to be back for good in summer 2014. This amazing group guarantees a night to remember, especially if booked together with an additional DJ-set by Maft Sai & Chris Menist who are both part of the travel party!
